Dogsketches

So it’s been almost five months since last update. Uhm. I blame summer, a new kickbike, friends and vacation. Anyway! Some new sketches:

Just working on speed. Being able to sketch stuff fast, without references, etc. Funfun!

Still having fun with more comicy versions of dogs I know. This is Lira, again. Distinct looks are more fun to work with.

L is for Lillo

Another quick sketch, of another one of Mailin’s dogs: Lillo. Possibly one of my favorite huskies in this world.

Lillo

I’m planning to do more with this later, but right now it’s late and my bed is calling me.:)

(Sheesh, I should really just make a category for huskies. And/Or “Mailin’s dogs”.😛 )

Speedy Laska

Still practicing the rough kind of painting. It’s going a lot better. This one took about the duration of the movie “Mama” to draw.

laskahode3

Laska, whom I’ve posted about before.   Used a photo ref taken by Laska’s owner.

Speedy Garm

Another fur- and colour-study, this time of my other dog, Garm. Trying to get the shape and details across without having to resort to full photo-realism. I like the paintery feel.

Garm

Colours! Wooo!

Speedy Delta

Did a quick fur/colour-study of a photo I took of one of my dogs today:

Just eyeballing colours, as well as trying to work in shapes with quick strokes

Thirty minutes each, refs were sort of used.

Day 4 – Values and layout

caitlyngrey

No, I don’t know where her gun is, but there is probably a connection between it going missing and her running through the jungle. Yes, it’s been far too long since I played LoL.

Practicing general layout as well as actually doing a value-study before starting painting. Quite fun, but considering it’s not something I generally do it certainly took a bit of time.

It will be interesting to see how the actual painting turns out later!

Edit: and apparently you have to click on the picture twice to see the full size. Hm. What happened there, WordPress?

Expressions

Practicing Delta's faces. Not super-happy with all of them, but I do like the Triumph and the Silly.
